Our Mission: Providing a No-Cage, No-Kill Haven
The Cat House on the Kings stands as California’s largest sanctuary dedicated to cats, operating as a no-cage, no-kill, and lifetime care facility and adoption center. Our core mission is multifaceted: first and foremost, to find loving and permanent homes for rescued cats and kittens. Beyond adoption, we are committed to offering a safe, joyful, and healthy environment for cats and kittens who are unwanted, all within our unique, cage-free sanctuary. Central to our values is the prevention of pet overpopulation, achieved through extensive spaying and neutering programs. Finally, we dedicate ourselves to educating the public, promoting responsible pet ownership and care.

As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, The Cat House relies entirely on the generosity of public donations to sustain our mission. We receive no funding from government or public sources, making community support crucial to our continued operation.
Over the past 33 years since our founding, The Cat House on the Kings has made a profound impact, rescuing an estimated 52,311 cats and 7,900 dogs. In addition to direct rescues, our spay and neuter programs have reached approximately 90,000 animals, significantly contributing to animal welfare. Currently, our sanctuary provides care for over 700 cats and kittens, alongside a dozen dogs and a charming community of peacocks.
