Essential Cat Boarding Requirements
To ensure the health and safety of all our cat boarding guests, we have specific requirements that must be met prior to your cat’s stay.
*Important Note: We accept required testing completed by your regular veterinarian within the past 12 months. To streamline the check-in process, please submit copies of all medical records, including vaccination status and test results, to our clinic 48 hours before your scheduled (required) Wellness Exam with one of Animal House of Chicago’s veterinarians. If records are not received in advance, these tests will be performed at the time of your appointment. **Please be aware that appointments for required boarding tests can fill up quickly, so we highly recommend scheduling your appointment as soon as possible!**
All cats participating in cat boarding must be current on the following:
- Annual Physical Exam: A yearly physical examination by an Animal House of Chicago Veterinarian is mandatory to ensure your cat’s health and suitability for boarding.
- Vaccinations: Required vaccinations include Feline Rabies, Feline Distemper, and Feline Leukemia (the latter is mandatory only for cats that go outdoors).
- Feline Health Tests: A negative Feline Leukemia/Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) test is required.
- Fecal Test: A negative fecal test to ensure your cat is free from intestinal parasites.
- Flea Treatment: All cat boarding guests will receive a Capstar Flea oral treatment upon arrival to prevent flea infestations.
*Please note: Should your cat test positive for any of the required cat boarding tests, we can still accommodate them in our designated isolation area for an additional fee. This ensures the health and safety of all cats in our care.
