The Cat Key to Riches in Yakuza: A Player’s Guide to Making Millions

So, I messed up early on in my Yakuza playthrough. I totally missed the chance to rake in the big bucks in Purgatory because I rushed to Kage’s office. That meant the hard way was the only way – grinding against every gang member in town just to scrape together enough cash. Seriously, I spent days beating down thugs, but hey, on the bright side, all those Dragon Eyes I collected and sold let Kazuma get every gun and mod in the game. And get this, even after all that, I still haven’t finished the game! Bought it on day one too.

Usually, I blaze through Yakuza games. Kazuma’s at level 20, and everyone else is around 15. Thinking about maxing everyone to level 20 before I actually finish the story.

But let me tell you the real secret, the Cat Key to making serious money in this game: gambling aids. Those gift items and locker finds are game-changers.

The baccarat pieces (both player and dealer), a couple of poker items, plus blackjack and roulette pieces? These things are your cat key to millions. Seriously, millions!

If you’re aiming for full completion, my advice is to knock out as many side quests and locker parts as you can. Then, after you beat the main story, jump into a Premium New Game. Two big reasons for this: you’ll need it for the trophy, and you’ll get more wood. Wood is crucial for modding.

Now, there’s another way to get wood – hitting 2,000 points in the batting cages. But honestly, you don’t need all that wood just for the trophy. It’s only if you’re a completionist who wants to mod absolutely everything possible.
