During her time in vet school, she served as President of the National Student American Veterinary Medical Association, representing over 17,000 veterinary students and advocating for the future of veterinary medicine.

She shares her home with Luna, a charming gray tabby she rescued during a vet school spay event for local animal shelters. Her passion for caring for often-misunderstood pets is deeply rooted, inspired by her beloved pet chickens who played a significant role in her journey to veterinary medicine over a decade ago. Outside of her fulfilling work at Just Cats Clinic, Dr. Martinez-Jaka enjoys crocheting, attending concerts, and exploring new places through travel.
