To begin your journey, please fill out our application. This is the first step in helping us get to know you, your lifestyle, and what you’re looking for in a cat. Whether you envision a playful pair of kittens scampering around your home or a more mature, laid-back adult cat to share quiet evenings with, let us know your preferences. Feel free to mention specific cats from our listings that have caught your eye, but don’t worry if you haven’t found “the one” just yet. Many of our cats are still waiting for their online debut, so applying is always a great idea. Our dedicated team acts as matchmakers, and we’re excited to help you find the purrfect feline fit for your family.
You can typically expect to hear back from us within about two days of submitting your application. If your application is a good match, we will schedule a virtual meeting with one of our knowledgeable Adoption Coordinators. This conversation allows us to delve deeper into your preferences and discuss potential cat candidates. Following this, we’ll arrange video calls for you to “meet” cats who seem like a good fit. Video calls are a fantastic way to observe the cat in a comfortable and natural setting – their foster home – and hear firsthand insights into their personality and quirks directly from their foster parent. If everything feels right after these virtual introductions, we will efficiently handle the necessary paperwork. You can then look forward to picking up your newest family member from their foster home, generally within five days of completing the adoption process.
Before you apply, please keep a few key points in mind: For the well-being of kittens, we exclusively place single kittens in homes that already include a young, playful cat companion. Adoption pick-ups are arranged at the foster parent’s home, with most fosters located in the central Brooklyn area. We are committed to your success and provide ongoing tips and support to help you smoothly introduce your new cat to your home environment. To ensure the best possible transition and lifelong bond, we ask that the prospective primary caregiver be the one to complete the adoption application. We strongly advise against adopting cats as surprise gifts. Finally, if you reside more than 40 miles outside of Brooklyn, we kindly encourage you to explore the wonderful adoption opportunities available through your local TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release) programs or rescue organizations, who are doing crucial work in your community.
