Find Adorable Coon Cats for Sale: Your Guide to Maine Coon Kittens

As a lifelong cat enthusiast, I can honestly say that discovering the Maine Coon breed was a turning point. The moment I met my first Maine Coon, I knew I had to become more involved with these magnificent felines, which led me to become a dedicated Maine Coon breeder. My journey with these gentle giants has been incredible, and I’m excited to share my experiences and help you find your own perfect Coon cat companion.

Growing up, most of my feline friends were outdoor adventurers. My parents weren’t keen on indoor pets, so my cats spent their days exploring the great outdoors. However, my love for them meant I’d often sneak them inside during chilly weather, creating cozy hideouts in my closet, only to release them back outside before sunrise.

That changed when my husband gifted me a Himalayan kitten at the age of 25. It was Christmastime, and I named him Jack Frost, or “Jack” for short. Jack was a cherished member of our family as we grew, though he was a bit reserved around strangers. He truly thrived in the company of our family.

Jack was more than just a pet; he was my loyal companion through life’s adventures, moves, and the joys of raising children. He was my first cat from kittenhood until his passing at 14 years old in January 2012, due to Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. He was my best bud, and his loss left a void in our home.

After a year, the time felt right to welcome a new kitten into my life, but this time, I wanted to explore a different breed. While I adored Jack, I was curious about other cat personalities. My son, a fellow cat aficionado, suggested the Maine Coon. He sent me a picture, and I was immediately captivated. Intrigued, I researched their temperament and traits and was instantly hooked!

Meet Our Maine Coon Family: Discovering the Breed’s Charm

In June 2014, I welcomed Finlay, my first Maine Coon, into my home. He came from LuckyPaws Maine Coons and is a stunning Classic Brown Tabby with a touch of white. Finlay is the epitome of cool and collected. He’s become the guardian of our feline family, always grooming newcomers and gently correcting any misbehavior. Grooming is his absolute delight! He’s also our steadfast bed companion, always found in our bed at night, sometimes at the foot, other times snuggled beside my husband, his favorite human. He’s as big as a toddler, sometimes we joke we might need a king-size bed just for him!

From there, my Maine Coon journey truly took off. One wasn’t enough; I knew I needed another. That’s how Big Ben joined our family in November 2016. He came from SonShine Coons, initially as a foster, but his breeder was 3B Al Coons. Big Ben is a playful Blue Silver Tabby with white markings. He’s the resident goofball – clumsy, playful, beautiful, and incredibly sweet. Most notably, he’s a TANK! Still young, he already weighs close to 20 pounds. Big Ben adores water, loves his feline siblings, and is a sucker for belly rubs.

My love for the breed deepened, and I knew I wanted to add another Maine Coon to our family. Omega arrived in September 2017 from a breeder in South Carolina. He’s a striking solid white Maine Coon male and has proven to be one of the most exceptional cats I’ve ever known. His personality is simply irresistible! Gentle, kind, and with undeniable swagger, Omega is loved by everyone he meets, a truly beautiful boy inside and out.

My Journey as a Maine Coon Breeder: Passion and Purpose

Around January 2017, the thought of becoming a Maine Coon breeder truly took root. I began dedicated research, immersing myself in studies, and connecting with breeders to learn everything I could about this incredible breed. Being on the breeding side is a vastly different experience from being a pet owner. There’s a profound responsibility to contribute to the breed’s betterment, uphold its integrity, and ensure the continuation of their wonderful beauty, health, and exceptional temperaments for generations to come.

In December 2017, I took the plunge and welcomed Ursula, my first Maine Coon female, into my life. She’s a stunning black tortie Maine Coon from Catsvill County Maine Coons in Moscow, Russia. Ursula became the foundation of our breeding program, producing several litters of adorable Maine Coon kittens before retiring to her forever home. Thank you, Ursy, for such a wonderful beginning!

Why Breed Maine Coons? Sharing the Love for this Amazing Breed

My decision to breed Maine Coons stems from pure adoration for the breed. As a devoted cat lover, I believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the awesomeness of a Maine Coon. My goal is to help make that a reality for you.

When I started, I noticed a gap in accessible information for individuals genuinely interested in becoming involved with Maine Coons and seeking in-depth knowledge. Social media exists, but honestly, the breeder community wasn’t always the most welcoming. It can be a challenging industry to break into, which can be discouraging.

However, I’m not easily deterred. My primary career is in real estate investing, a field dominated by men. Growing up with four older brothers and being an Aries has instilled in me a resilient spirit. Nothing can easily stop me from pursuing something I’m passionate about.

My deep admiration for Maine Coons has led me down this path. My mission is to contribute to the breed’s improvement and provide healthy, beautiful kittens to families and fellow Maine Coon enthusiasts who will cherish their furry companions for years to come. I eagerly anticipate introducing newcomers to the breed and witnessing them fall in love with these majestic kitties.

As an entrepreneur managing two businesses (real estate investing and an online coaching business), breeding Maine Coons isn’t driven by financial gain. My husband and I have a successful real estate business, and my online platform, Property M.O.B., provides substantial income. Breeding Maine Coons is purely a labor of love, fueled by passion and enthusiasm for the breed and a desire to connect Coon Cats For Sale with loving homes.

A Bright Future Filled with Coon Cats

I am excited to connect with fellow pet owners and breeders alike! I vividly remember the challenges I faced as a new breeder, trying to find answers and navigate the learning curve.

Experienced breeders are right – there is a vast amount to learn. I’ve gained extensive knowledge about the breed, cat shows, hormones, genetics, health, and color variations. It’s an incredibly exciting journey, and I am committed to becoming the best Maine Coon breeder I can be. I hope to eventually share my knowledge and experiences with aspiring breeders entering this wonderful world.

To those few individuals who offered kindness, answered my questions, and kept my spirits up when I was starting, thank you. Your support made a real difference, and I won’t forget your kindness. You are a part of why I’m pursuing this passion.
